Why Octagonlock Scaffolding System Needs the Perfect Base Jack?

An Octagonlock Scaffolding System is as good as its base. A line of base jacks all the vertical load from each platform, the workers and the materials starts to hit the ground. If those jacks are weak, misaligned or poorly adjusted, the whole structure moves with them. Huayou builds base jacks with the same discipline to which the Octagonlock Scaffolding components they support require, so the system retains its geometry from lift one to lift last.

The Load Path Can Be Traced From the Ground Up

In all Octagonlock Scaffolding Systems, the standards bear the vertical loads and the ledger ties the standards into a working frame. But none of this works unless the base jack below is level. A small amount of tilt in the ground is amplified as the scaffold rises up, joints that weren’t meant for workingloads get loaded from joints perspectives not designed. A proper base jack pushes the weight straight down the screw bar all the way through to the base plate, keeping the standard perfect vertical, and keeping every node line up.

Why the Jack Must Match the Frame

The standard for Oakaglock Scaffolding connects to the ledgers and the Octagonlock Scaffolding Diagonal Brace through its rosette nodes. These connections are all asked to be used provided the standard is vertically straight. Huayou base jack uses 20# steel or No. Q235 screw bar with cast or drop forged nuts, solid and hollow types are available to accommodate different load types. The screw bar is 28mm -60mm in diameter and 350mm-1000mm long, meaning equipment for both light access towers and heavy shoring alike as this is a jack.

Leveling on Uneven Ground

Construction sites are not often level. The Octagonlock Scaffolding Ledger and brace layout works only when the base line is level – which is precisely what an adjustable base jack does: just screw it higher up on the low side and lower down on the high side and the entire Octagonlock System will rest on a level line. Hot dip galvanized, electro-galvanized, painted, or powder coated finishes provide protection in places where rust is an issue.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why does the base jack matter more in an Octagonlock System than in tube and fitting scaffolds?

A: That is due to the fact that correct levels are crucial, as the Octagonlock System locks standards, ledgers and braces at fixed rosette nodes. If the base is not level, then the nodes will consequently not line up with those thanks to base being less important in tube and fitting scaffolds. That means the frame loses the sturdiness the system is designed for.

Q: Solid or hollow base jack, which one should I choose?

A: For vertical loads with high dead loads, use solid jacks for shoring and falsework; use hollow jacks for access scaffolds because they are lighter and easier to handle. We have the ability to match the base you need for any outfitted load; just let us know that you have your load figures.

Q: Can we use our drawings for base jacks manufactured by Huayou?

A: Absolutely. OEM, ODM orders are a typical request, and the production line can adapt to your nut, screw, and base plate design.
