What is scaffold plank / steel plank

Steel plank we also call them as metal plank, steel board, steel deck, metal deck, walk board, walk platform.

Steel plank is a kind of scaffolding in the construction industry. The name of steel plank is based on the traditional scaffolding plank like wooden plank and bamboo plank. It is made by steel and generally referred as steel scaffold plank, steel building board, steel deck, galvanised plank, hot-dipped galvanised steel board, and is popularly used by the shipbuilding industry, the oil platform, the power industry and the construction industry. The steel plank is punched with M18 bolt holes for connecting the planks to other planks and adjusting the width of the bottom of the platform. Between the steel plank and other steel plank, use a toe board with a height of 180mm and painted black and yellow to fix the toe board with screws in 3 holes on steel plank so that the steel plank can be fixedly connected to other steel plank. After the connection is completed, the materials for the fabrication platform should be strictly checked for acceptance, and the platform should be tested after it is made. The installation is completed and acceptance is qualified for listing before it is put into use.

Steel plank can used in all type of scaffolding system and construction by different types.

The composition of steel plank

Steel plank consists of main plank, end cap and stiffener. The main plank punched with regular holes , then welded by two end cap at two sides and one stiffener by every 500mm. We can classified them by different sizes and also can by different type of stiffener, such as flat rib, box/square rib, v-rib.
